This Association in
its present form has been in existence for almost fifty years but prior to
that was known by various names since the formation of the Great Grimsby
Smack Owners' Association in 1878.
It has over the years represented and continues to do so in the present
day, Fishing Vessel Owners, Operators and Agencies, at local and national
levels as may be required. With the changing pattern of supplies of fish to
the Grimsby Market in recent years, the Association Membership has been
extended to all Fish Selling Agencies on Grimsby Fish Market. Regular
contact with all members of the Association can provide the central point
of contact for any enquiries or general information on behalf of its
members.
